Syria Planet is an aggregation of blogs written by Syrians or about Syria. Its first and foremost goal is to serve as a community portal for member bloggers to interact with one another, discuss pressing issues, and arrange events. It also provides an insight into the thoughts of Syrians around the world, current events in Syria, and hot topics about Syria.

The Planet is run by a group of Syrian bloggers, however, each entry in the planet represents its original author's opinion. To provide a completely free platform, maintainers of Syria Planet do not pre-approve or censor any of its content, as entries are directly and automatically retrieved from participants' blogs.

A list of participating bloggers is available on the right sidebar of the front page. In addition, there is a complete feed for all member blogs.

Syria Planet is powered by Django, a modern open source Python-based web application framework, and FeedJack, a Django application for aggregating RSS feeds.
